Hello Fellow Anglers
We are still open for Sockeye as of this week, and the earliest potential closure is after this upcoming Sunday September 19th, but as of now there is still no announcement as to that. I still have some open dates/times this week, and the weather is looking good (calm). The commercial boats have been hitting them hard over the past few days, but there are still several million fish holding off the mouthy of the Fraser as of today, and these late run fish traditionally tend to hold well into October before heading up into the river.
Today I had to run south of Sandheads in order to find the fish, but we did encounter some massive schools down there, and easily limited out once we got there. I would expect to see similar results through this week, and if we stay open, it could even be possible next week. On that subject, there are also the large mature Chinook off the mouth of the Capilano to begin pursuing. Over the past couple years this run has been starting in early September, but prior to that, it never really got going until about September 15th or so, and it is looking like this will be the case again this year. There have been a few large fish taken, but no real numbers yet. It is worth a look though, and any day now we could begin to see large numbers start to show up.
As of this time I have the following open dates/times during the next couple weeks: Tuesday Sept. 14th (pm), Wednesday Sept. 15th (am, pm), Thursday Sept. 16th (am, pm), Friday Sept. 17th (am, pm), Saturday Sept. 18th (pm), Sunday Sept. 19th (pm), Monday Sept. 13th (am, pm), Tuesday Sept. 14th (pm), Friday Sept. 24th (am), and I am still pretty open from Monday September 27th onward. I am sure that with the continued excellent fishing, I will have many if not all of these open times get booked up, so if you are interested in getting out for a last kick at the Sockeye, and the first shot at those big Chinook, you should get in touch with me fairly quickly. The Sockeye action is often too frantic for me to answer the phone (and it is often located in a bad cellular area), so please leave a message if I don't answer, or you can always text me or e-mail me.
As always, feel free to pass this information along to any associates whom may appreciate the report. If you have any questions, or wish to book a charter, e-mail me at (davek@dccnet.com), or call me at (604) 329 - 8642. if you get a "bounce back" on your e-mail it is due to this "Windows Live" e-mail I have on my new computer......it seems to be a bit problematic. Please try again by directly e-mailing me or by phoning......thanks.
Tight Lines,
David Korsch
